Spring is in full bloom at Sweet Carolina Bakeshop! For this workshop, our theme is May Flowers. In this class we will cover how to design and create a “Pull Apart” Cake, made from a grouping of cupcakes all decorated as one whole sheet cake, how to use your frosting bag and tips to create piped Roses, Daisies, Hydrangeas and leaves with buttercream, and how to make & color frosting using gel coloring. You’ll also come away with beautiful Pull Apart Cake(1 dozen cupcakes), as well as decorating tools and accessories so you can recreate your masterpiece at home.
What is a “Pull Apart Cake” you may ask..? A Pull Apart Cake is made by arranging batches of cupcakes into a unique shape before frosting and decorating all of them at the same time. The best part about these pull-apart cupcake cakes is that they don’t need to be cut, making them a perfect grab-and-go treat.
At Sweet Carolina Bakeshop we get requests for these cakes all the time. I mean, ALL. THE. TIME. So, we thought it might be fun to share with you some of the tricks of the trade so you can make your own Pull Apart Cake at home and surprise your family with your masterful creation. And the best part is, whether you’re hosting a birthday party or a shower, a pull-apart cupcake cake is a great way to satisfy a whole bunch of guests, without having to worry about bringing out the forks, knives and plates. So join us at the Bakeshop, on May 21 from 6-7:30 to learn how to make your own Pull Apart Cake.

You’ll also come away with beautiful Mother’s Day cupcake bouquet(1 dozen cupcakes), as well as decorating tools and accessories so you can recreate your masterpiece at home.
If you’ve followed us for any amount of time, you’ve heard me say many times I owe a large part of my success to my Mother, and my Grandmother. My Mother, a serial entrepreneur and role model. And my Grandmother, a professional grandmother and master cake maker/recipe curator. I can say with absolute certainty, without the influences of these two wonderful women I would not be where I am today – which is usually covered in flour, while baking and frosting cupcakes, running a business and trying to be a Mother myself.

In this class, you will learn how to level and stack a layer cake, and how to use your decorating tools to create the popular ombre’ color pattern and rosette swirl. You'll also come away with your own Ombre Rosette Cake, and some decorating tools so you can recreate your masterpiece at home.
