WOW! That’s all I can say about the last month or so around here. I have been so busy that by the time I sit down at night to update this blog, I am too tired to think! That’s good news, though! I’m loving every minute of it and hope for more and more to come.
Since the last update, we have found a cute little space we are in the process of renovating into our store-front. I will continue to do the baking in the wonderful commercial kitchen we have been using and then transport to our retail location. It will be so nice to have a place where people can come in and see what we have to offer– we are very excited. It is all coming together so nicely and just seems to be a perfect fit for Sweet Carolina. Hopefully, the doors will open at the first of October. I will keep you updated with a GRAND OPENING date! Meanwhile, we are still taking phone and email orders and plan to continue that as well.
Another exciting thing happened this week– I was contacted by WHHI-TV to do a spot on their new feature called “Girl Talk”. It is like a Lowcountry version of “The View”. Well, I went to the taping on Thursday, and one of the regular panelists had an emergency and couldn’t make it. They asked me to sit in on the whole thing…and of course I said “YES!” I had never seen a TV program in production and it was fascinating! I had a great time and really appreciate their hospitality and kindness. They made me feel right at home. It will begin airing on Monday locally, and run through Sunday. There will be an online link to view the show in their archives for those who aren’t local. As soon as I have that link, I will post it here. Oh, I forgot to mentioned that this all spawned from a little spot in Hilton Head Monthly magazine in their New Faces/New Places column. They were nice enough to include me last month and it has really gotten Sweet Carolina’s name out there. Thanks to both!
What else…Oh, we’re in the process of getting a logo decided on and hope to have some t-shirts and aprons printed soon. Maybe we’ll even offer them in our shop…who knows!
