More rain. LOTS more rain. For the last couple of weeks, we have battled Mother Nature over who is going to make a stronger appearance at Harbourfest. One week, as the only vendors who braved the wet conditions, we came out on top. Last night, though…she showed us. Shelter Cove was a virtual ghost-town. Even Shannon Tanner, our delightful entertainer, didn’t make it. No Shannon + rain= NO cupcake-crazed kids. We hung out for a while, holding down our tent as the winds picked up. Eventually I realized that we were fighting a losing battle. We packed it up and headed home. Darn.
This was our last Thursday night for Harbourfest. Tuesday will be the final night altogether. So, we are in for some changes and brainstorming for ideas of how to keep promoting the business. This evening we will head to the Island Playground, for a back-to-school party where I am providing cupcakes for a cake-walk. We are also going out this morning to scout out some locations for our future store-front. Will update later.
