With the weather cooling down and Halloween already gone, fall is in full swing. The holidays will be upon us very shortly so come in and try some of our seasonal favorites. You might find just the sweet treat you need for upcoming dinners, parties, or gift-giving.

Some of our new favorites are Pumpkin Cream, Cranberry-orange Gingerbread, Caramel Apple, and German Chocolate. If cupcakes aren’t your thing, we are also offering freshly baked pumpkin, pecan, and apple pies. Our line of signature cakes is available now, too.

Keep an eye on your calendar — orders for the Thanksgiving weekend need to be placed by Monday November 23. Muffins, pies, cupcakes, cakes…..the possibilities of delicious ways to celebrate the season are endless.

PS….Friday is now RED VELVET day!!!! Yummmmmm!

 

We Are MOVING! August 31, 2009

Hey everyone!

Quick post to let you know that we are in the process of moving to a BIGGER location! Thanks to all of you, we need more space. Good problem to have! :)

We will be closed on Monday August 31st and will re-open at noon on Tuesday September 1st.

Our new store is in Coligny Plaza on Hilton Head Island, right beside Piggly Wiggly. I will post some pictures soon….very exciting!

Rain, rain, stay away… June 22, 2009

It happened. Last week was our first rain-out of the season at Harbourfest. We stuck it out through the first round of rain and thunder because let’s face it, who needs to take home 12 dozen cupcakes? Eventually, we had to give in and leave but not before we sold about half of what we brought. Not too bad for a rainy day. Oh, and we now know our tent is not REALLY waterproof. Nope. Not at all.

Sweet Carolina has also done a couple of weddings since the last post and we have several more coming up in the next few weeks. I love doing weddings, and when we set up we get to take great pictures.

Piggie

….just went to New Hampshire for a birthday party. Isn’t he cute? I haven’t worked all that much with rolled fondant, but these turned out really great. There is a sweet little birthday girl in the great state of New Hampshire who loves pigs, and these are going to her. (Hope she doesn’t look at the website until after Friday!). When her mom asked me to do these, I was really excited to try it.

On another note, Harbourfest is now underway at Shelter Cove Marina. This is where it all began for Sweet Carolina Cupcakes one year ago, so it holds a special place in our hearts. Last night was the first one of the year and it was fantastic. Lots of nice people and gorgeous weather. Come out and see us on Tuesday nights, grab a cupcake, and enjoy the fireworks.

Well…in the real world, they are muffins. But in Cupcake World, we are calling them Breakfast Cupcakes. Why? They are just so pretty, they needed a special name. Here at Sweet Carolina Cupcakes, we are becoming known for our Coffee Cake (muffin) Breakfast Cupcake. It is SOOO good…brown sugar, cinnamon, and a little gooey glaze. We also offer Blueberry Shortbread, White Chocolate Cherry Almond, Chocolate Chocolate Chunk, Apple Raisin Pecan, Pineapple Coconut, Blackberry Cobbler, Reduced Fat Pumpkin Raisin, and coming soon –Sweet Southern Peach.

Well, we made it through another Bluffton Farmer’s Market last week. Our first one with RAIN! Everyone got a little damp, but no one seemed to mind. And, the lower temperature was perfect for us…no worries about melting frosting! We are so glad that people are finding us there. Several people from our first week came back just for our cupcakes. THANK YOU! We love it and hope to see you again and again.

This is a quick post but wanted to add a picture of one of our flavors — Eclair. We start with a white cake filled with Bavarian Cream and topped off by a rich chocolate ganache. Super yum! ( I would never say that in real life, but here it seems ok!)

What could be better? White Chocolate AND raspberry…SOOOOOOO good! Our friend Lullabelle recommended this new combination, and it’s a winner. Delicate white cake with red raspberry filling, topped with white chocolate buttercream, more raspberry, and drizzled with melted white chocolate. Trust me, I did the taste test on this one…simply decadent! We have them in the store today, but they are going fast.
